March 2007
Dear Friends,
We just got home the last day of February, through a
Southern California snowstorm, driving on I-8 from Yuma to
San Diego. Hard to believe, but everything in the mountains
above about 3000 feet was covered with a blanket of snow!
It looked much different from any other time we have
traveled that stretch (and that is quite a few times).
We spent the last few days with Faith Baptist Church in
Yuma, AZ, where we have been several times since last June,
since they are without a pastor, and we enjoy helping them
out when we can. By the time we got into El Cajon, the sun
was shining, and we stopped briefly at our favorite
on-the-road place, Mickey D's (McDonalds, for those not into
riddles and funny names). It happened that this was a newly
remodeled one, with two TV screens, lounge chairs like a
Starbucks, and three computers for kids to play games on! I
have been taking pictures of McDonalds where we stop, and
plan to have a picture album to see if you recognize any of
them! I want to show those pictures to missionaries and
evangelists, who, like us, criss-cross the country (and I
think all of them stop at McDonalds, too!). Only thing, if
I forget to take good notes, I may have to look at the map,
and the time and date on my pictures, to figure out where we
were at the time! We have already made LOTS of stops in
less than a year!
Our March schedule includes a trip for Dave to Germany and
Spain, and for Joan and Ruth Ann to their very own beds
every night! Ruth Ann has gotten sick during the last two
overseas trips, so we felt it was best if she stayed home
this time. I leave March 15, and preach for missionary
Andrew Wilson in their German church in Landstuhl, for the
new military church at Ramstein with missionary Gary Craft,
and for Rhein River Baptist Church in Mannheim, with
missionary Tom Lancaster. Then I join other BIMI military
missionaries to fly to Rota, Spain, for a conference hosted
by Chris Parker and the Bethel Baptist Church there. After
the BIMI Conference, I will have a local church meeting with
Brother Parker, Wednesday through Sunday. I plan to use a
new series, "Philippi; the Excellent Church", the title
coming from chapter 1, verse 10. As soon as I arrive home
(4/3), March will be over, and we will leave for a trip to
TX, FL, GA and NC.
More on April when April gets here!
For those who haven't looked yet (it's easy to forget), our
new Web site,
www.earnharts.com/localchurchmin,
is up and running. There is a link to pictures on
Jonathan's album site, and there are a couple of other
albums from us located there. One is D. Earnhart 2006
Travels (filed under 2005), and a new one, Funny Faces
2006, filed under 2003 (Phanfare files them automatically by
the dates on the pictures). The Funny Faces are mostly
family, but some friends show up, too! You'd better check-
you might be one of them!
You can find our address at the end of this note, and my
cell phone number. Many friends have written emails, and
some have phoned! I check my email, and my phone is always
turned on! If I find a missed call, I'll call you back!
Thank you for your prayers- God has given us protection for
our travels, and allowed us to be a blessing in lots of
places! We want to keep doing just that. No church is too
small, and we charge no fees or expenses.
Yours in His Service,
Dave Earnhart
