January
2007
Dear
Friends,
I wanted
to wait until January to send you a note, and then we could
include our new prayer card. We had it printed in Peru when
we visited Jonathan's family in December.
2006 was
another of those Transition Years which I'm sure you have
experienced as well! On Sunday May 7, we officially ended
almost 16 years as pastor and family at Fundamental Baptist
Church, Escondido, CA. We also "retired" from the full-time
pastorate, and "re-tooled" into a traveling work, Local
Church Ministries. You can find more detailed information
at
www.earnharts.com/localchurchmin .
In May,
we journeyed to the East Coast, preaching and visiting
relatives along the way. We met the Brewers and Becky
Earnhart with Amanda in North Carolina, and stayed a few
days at Ambassador Baptist College in Lattimore. Each
family had a different wedding to attend the Atlanta area.
The Brewers stayed in the States until August, visiting
churches and relatives, so we got to see them in California
also, and went to some churches with them, which we have
never been able to do before.
In
September, we traveled to Minnesota, stayed in our old
parsonage (a very enjoyable time), and preached and visited
in 6 different churches there. We stopped along the way in
Durango, CO, and rode the coal and steam train to Silverton
and back. That was a great side trip, and we recommend it!
We also drove up to the UP of Michigan and saw Joanie's
three sisters at Gitchee Goomee Conference Grounds, near
Houghton.
In late
November, we flew to Tacna, Peru, to spend a couple of weeks
with Jonathan and his family. We had never been in that
city, and we enjoyed helping with their Christmas Cantata,
and meeting the people of Calvary Baptist Church. We had
Christmas with the family on the 5th of December,
and made an excursion down to Arica, Chile, one day. Tacna
is a very nice town, and we enjoyed getting acquainted with
things there.
Because
our Christmas was already over, we volunteered to spend
Christmas and New Year's Sundays with our friends at Faith
Baptist Church in Yuma, AZ. They do not have a pastor, and
we have preached there several times. We have also filled
the pulpit and held short conferences in several other
churches in California and Arizona. We are in our same
house on Jed Road in Escondido, and use that for "home
base". The best phone is my cell (always on)
760.310.0830, and the
best email is
david.earnhart@gmail.com.
I hope
you will call or write!
We are
scheduled to be in Rota, Spain, the end of March for a
Military Missions Conference there, with missionary Chris
Parker. In April, we plan to travel I-20 to Florida,
Georgia and North Carolina, and in September, Minnesota and
Michigan.
We are
enjoying our travels, seeing old friends again, and meeting
many new ones!
Yours In
His Service,
the
Earnharts
